I think the universe is trying to tell me something. Every week when I type ‘Winenot Wednesday’ into my post title, autocorrect changes it to Winston Wednesday. There is a pretty extraordinary Champagne called Pol Roger Winston Churchill that I am dying to try – I am taking this as a sign that the ether/cyberbots/gremlins also think that it’s time.
I am in Brisbane this week, visiting my new squishy nephew. He is pretty damn cute and has an entire army of adults cooing over his every action. Even his farts are somehow charming – he pulls the cutest little face when he’s letting one go. It’s fair to say we are all a bit smitten.
Yes, I just talked about farts. I apologise. I think I may have to just cut to the chase this week.
Our most popular post this week was from Travelling Corkscrew with her post on Smurf Wine. Isn’t it beautiful!?! It is coloured with a small amount of blueberry extract. Totally kooky but I really want to track down a bottle.
My favourite posts of the week were:
The Sommelier Chef’s Learning more about wine – a fantastic guide on approaching wine education and what you can get out of it. Doing the WSET Level 3 a few years back totally changed my path and I am now turning a general interest into a career. At the other end of the spectrum, wine education can be just glorious fun. Make sure you check out Di’s post.
Louise was a little cheeky in linking up a beer tasting post but I’m totally supporting it – craft beer can have all the nuances of wine and open up some damn fine food matching options. So there you go, craft beer posts are fair game. You can start by reading about Barossa Valley Brewing.
My favourite social media linkup was via @TIFFINbitesized

It most certainly is 🙂
Make sure you also pop over and check out Louise’s favourites.

Over to you, what have you been discovering in the world of wine this week?

You should never apologise for mentioning flatus. Passing wind is a very healthy physiological response and it’s a bad sign if it doesn’t occur. I say better out than in 😀
Oh well little T is in for a good life then because he has a very well functioning digestive system 🙂
Excellent 🙂
We were both a little “cheeky” this week 😛
All winemakers drink bucket loads of beer (especially during vintage), and Little Lioness started it! Bring on the craft brews!
Also, you totally need to try the Pol Roger Winston Churchill – mushroomy, amazingness. Save it for a special occasion.
xx Lou
Champagne, squishy nephew and farts – oh yes! Best blog post EVER!
Hehe, thank you
Surely anything Pol Roger is a good thing and squishy nephews are even better. Oh, enjoy those heaven-scented cuddles with a new person. I’m a bit jealous x
I giggled at your ‘heaven-scented cuddles’ comment. My nephew is quite the little farter.
Too cute with the wee nephew and enjoy Mr. Winston Churchill – can’t wait to hear all about it 🙂
That smurf wine looks divine!
Enjoy your squishy nephew! Xx
Doesn’t it! Something so naughty about a blue drink too 🙂
