Welcome to the 9th Winenot Wednesday.
It sure has been a big ol’ busy week. My week off in Brisbane seems to have resulted in twice as much work on my return. Add to that my doggy daddy being away and the doggy requiring two walks a day; it’s fair to say I’m feeling a touch exhausted.
I have had a fairly lovely wine week. I got to hang out with Phil from Grasshopper Rock last week and taste his beautiful Central Otago Pinot. I had a lovely evening tasting Italian varietals and delicious food at Tipo 00 (review to come). To cap it off, a night with my girls saw us tasting quite a few unusual and delicious things. It was a Friday and I was not paying attention to much outside of the amazing croquembouche my dear friend made, so pardon the lack of tasting notes
Anyhow, let’s cut to the clever wine writing.
The most popular post this week was by Please Bring Me My Wine all about Bordeaux’s first big wine brand.
I absolutely loved Wine is a Verb’s post about the Yarra Valley Shortest Lunch, a mini wine festival to celebrate the shortest day of the year with beautiful Yarra wine and lots of warming food.
I also couldn’t go past Travelling Corkscrew’s very funny post on matching bacon and wine. You really can’t go wrong with that.
Make sure you also check out Louise’s favourite over at Willinga Wino.
My favourite social media post was from @TIFFINbitesized
It’s only 11am but I certainly feel the need for this. One of those days! #winenot@louiserhodes@nicole_rougepic.twitter.com/rvNuNC2rX6

July 4, 2015 at 2:46 am (10 months ago)omg that cooler, hahaha! I’m trying to be better about wine, but my palate is very unrefined. I’ve got an acute sense of smell, but somehow it never transferred to my tastebuds
