The Ultimate Garden Beer

I had to drop in quickly and tell you about a new and exciting, limited release, garden beer.

Yep, garden beer, not beer garden, I haven’t gone mad (well…).

Fortunately the people behind the garden beer didn’t let me name it :) I’m talking about a new craft beer that is the result of a collaboration between Temple Brewing Company in Brunswick and the Royal Mail Hotel in Dunkeld. They have teamed up to create  “Season’s Harvest”; a beer brewed by the talented team at Temple, incorporating seasonal flavours from the amazing kitchen garden at The Royal Mail…

Autumn Lemon Verbena & Pink Peppercorn Wheat beer

I know it sounds a little crazy, but it is a beautifully balanced, slightly spicy beer with a refreshing lemon balm finish. I am a bit useless at describing beers – the bar manager at Temple has promised to give me a crash course; but even for a wine-drinker this is a tasty little beer.

It’s available just this season at the Royal Mail Hotel and for a limited time (just a few special kegs worth of time) at Temple. So if you were looking for an excuse to dine (and perhaps stay) at the exquisite Royal Mail then here it is. You’re welcome. (Apparently they have Australia’s leading Bordeaux and Burgundy collection too. I’m swooning :) ).

I’ll leave you with a few pictures from the launch party. If you can’t make it out to Dunkeld, it’s definitely worth stumbling over to Brunswick to try the range of Temple Brewing Company beers and indulge in some seriously good food.

Stout Creme Brûlée – infused with Temple’s New World order Stout and topped with tuile made from the spent grain from the brewhouse. Earth-shatteringly good – rich and almost savoury.

Do you drink beer? What would you like to see incorporated into a beer?

Disclosure: I attended the launch party as a guest.

Those sliders look great! I don’t drink beer unfortunately (wish I did) would make life easier at times!

Wouldn’t it! I wish I like beer more. ‘Having a beer’ with mates is not the same if you order a glass of wine

My husband is a beer drinker – I am not {although on our first date I drank two beers, because I liked him and I didn’t want to tell him I don’t drink beer when he bought them back to the table}.

Beer is becoming so fancy of late, I’d definitely be interested in trying this the way you’ve described it (and those sliders, charcoal brioche buns! Am off to Google).

I know! I have no idea how you would go about making the buns but they are pretty on-trend in Melbourne at the moment

Have you tried the Beez Neez? – it’s pretty widely available and totally honey enriched
