As this goes live I will be about to walk into my WSET Sparkling Wine exam. Hence the radio silence lately. Every spare minute, and there aren’t many with my all the time full time job, has been spent cramming soil types and the meaning of complicated French terms into my stressed little brain. Yikes. Wish me luck!
Meanwhile, I was a little cheeky a few weeks back and took an entire weekend off to attend Eat Drink Blog, the Australian food bloggers conference in Canberra. Two whole days of hanging out with my #Winenot co-host, Louise from Willunga Wino, and one of my first blogging buddies, Megan of The Girl Has Sparke. In addition to making some delightful new friends. I will write more soon about the weekend but it was a bit of a direction changer for me.

So, onto Winenot duties.
We didn’t have a lot of linkers last month but the posts were all fantastic. And, quite oddly, there was an overwhelmingly Italian theme. Part of that is Louise’s doing, having just returned from Italy; but there was even a post on Italian grapes varietals being grown in Australia and shown in Europe by Please Bring Me My Wine – wines that I haven’t even seen in Australia no less!
My favourite posts of the month were:
At the feet of Saint Francis: Saio Winery, Assisi from Chestnuts and Truffles – gorgeous photographs, some really interesting information on the wines from Saio and an extraordinary local way of eating an aniseed-flavoured biscotti dipped in red wine.
I also loved Willunga Winos post about the varietals she and her beau are making under their new Aphelion Wine label. I have been fortunate enough to try their Sagrantino rosé (twice, the second time by special request) and the 2014 Chardonnay. Beautiful, elegant wines and I can’t wait to see more from them.
Check out Louise’s favourites too.
Now it’s your turn to join in….
We would love you to link up a post or three using the Inlinkz button below.
Please only link up posts that are drink related, we aren’t exclusive though, feel free to link up posts about beer, spirits or even fancy tea/coffee as well as wine.
This is a party so share the love by visiting and commenting on the other links too.
