I always miss out on food and wine events, hearing first about them on Facebook once they are over. So I thought I would start to plan ahead and put together lists of cool things happening ahead of time and share them with you so you don’t miss out too.
This is my list starting right this moment
Food and Wine Events for February
Looking for something local to do over this long weekend? The International Street Food Festival is on at the Melbourne Showgrounds. Food, music, shopping, fun and all kinds of kids activities. Did I mention food? So many different cuisines on offer so you can try something completely new
The Royal Croquet Club is on now and runs until 1st February. Croquet, some serious restaurant pop-ups and pop-art cans of Gelato Messina. You know how I feel about Messina.
Taste of Kyneton – 15th Feb. Kyneton is a little foodie haven so this mini-festival sounds delicious. It is the inaugural year so unlikely to be too crowded and there are plenty of local wineries and restaurants participating.
Melbourne Food and Wine Festival– 27th Feb to 15th March.
Possibly one of the biggest Food and Wine Festivals in Australia (maybe the world). There is so much to see and do and eat and drink over two and a half weeks.
A few of my (February) picks this year are:
The Best Fondue Party Ever just sounds like so much fun. The Duke of Wellington is a cool venue with great food too.
Farm to Table with Fowles Wine – from the winery that brings you the “Ladies who Shoot their Lunch” range, this promises to be a fun day of games, demonstrations, excellent food and marvellous wine.
Riedel Glass Tasting– one for the wine nerds. I do really believe that glass shape can affect the aromatics (and therefore flavour) of wine. But find out for yourself
Just a short list for this month as everyone gets prepared to rock into 2015.
What are you planning to go to? What have I missed?

January 25, 2015 at 11:15 am (1 year ago)I know! I’ve been drooling over your Instagram pics. I am so keen to try the canned Messina
And score a few cans.
My Street Food Festival intentions are not looking positive- I work weekends and will probably have to spend tomorrow studying. So disappointing.
